Domiciliary care, also known as home care or in-home care, refers to the provision of supportive and personal care services to individuals in their own homes. Domiciliary care aims to enable individuals to remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes while receiving the care and support they need.
There are many elements of home care that can directly help you or you and your spouse or partner. Home care is not only designed to support you directly, but also provides extra reassurance for family members that aren’t always available to support you, knowing that you are receiving the help you need.
The duties of a home carer often involve tasks such as general housekeeping (washing dishes, cleaning the home, doing laundry, making beds and so on). They are also able to help prepare meals as well as provide personal care (bathing, dressing) with dignity.
